ILE C/C++ Run-Time Library Functions - Reference guide to several C/C++ functions by IBM, always useful
Scilab - Scilab is a numerical programing environment similar to Matlab. It's free and available for Mac, Linux, Windows and other OSs. Another plus is the small graph theory library
Gnuplot - Gnuplot is a must for plotting scientific results
